Bad Luck Thursday

Mar 14, 2008 11:37

So, yesterday was just an impressive amount of bad luck. Murphy's Law in action forreal. Okay, so it starts out on a bad note. I have to be at work at 7 am. I wake up at 7:05. My phone was bieng jacked up so there was no alarm sound to wake me up at my usual time of 5:30.

So, Darci has to take me into work, which uses up the last bit of our gas, so I had to ask for a ride back home after work, which meant I wasn't able to hang around the base to see Cloverfield at the free theater. Now that was a movie I've been dying to see since last summer when I first saw the trailer for it. Guess I'll wait till dvd I suppose.

Work itself was surprisingly okay, I didn't get in trouble despite the fact that I was an hour late. Counting my stars and purple horeshoes on that one.

Then I get home, and I'm playing with our dog, and I'm thinking, you know, it's not that bad a day really. Until I decide to watch some tv that is, to find out that our cable has been out for a few hours. I call up the cable people to see what the problem was, and they inform me that our service was cancelled due to my wife calling in last week to cancel service due to the fact that we moved.

Now, when she called, she asked them to turn off just the internet, to help us lower our bill and since we will be moving at the end of May. So, i argue back and forth with the lady on the phone for like a good half hour telling her we didn't move just yet. We still want our tv. In the end she says the soonest she can get someone out here is Monday, and because they're feeling SO generous today, they want charge us the connection fee of $25, since it was their mistake that our tv was turned off.

So, no tv all weekend. It sucks, but I can deal. I mean at least we can still watch dvds and play video games right? Wrong. I go to play some Smackdown, to find that our 360 is as well not working right now. Darci calls up the Xbox people, and it's funny because they're hold music is stuff like the Halo theme. It turns out in the end, that we have to send our XBOX in to get repaired. So, the cable's out, and the XBOX is out of commission.

And then on top of all that, the cat threw up on the floor.

In the end, though, it might not turn out to be all that bad this weekend. Darci's mom called the cable company for us speaking as Darci, since she's got this Jedi mind trick way of arguing with people that gets us what we want. The cable guy should have been by the house right about now-ish I'm guessing, so hopefully when I return home we'll have our tv back on. And if Erik comes over tonight we'll see if he can bring his wires over for his 360 and hopefully that will solve the problem, we'll just get new connecting wires.

As far as today goes, it seems to be the exact opposite, one of the officers is buying us all Mcdonald's for lunch, and I'll be getting out early if all goes to plan, so things are looking up now. Yesterday though was like something out of that episode of Supernatural, except none of us died in some crazy ass manner though.
