Oh, this is so *good*! I need to go back and comment on the last chapter, too, because I love what you're doing with these characters--building and building this tension. I like how you twist things just so...how these are the same characters we know and love, just under different circumstances.Your Gordon reads very true, and your scary!Bruce is just plain intriguing.

I'm trying to walk the fine line between the Bruce and Jim that WE know and the way terrible experiences can change people without REALLY changing people (if that makes sense?). I'm glad you find Bruce interesting and that I seem to be succeeding so far! I hope that holds true for the whole story!

Oh, gah, so did I, one of my favorite scenes so far! And poor Bruce, stuck between fascination and his more natural self-interested reactions...

I still feel just so sorry for Bruce, especially after the assault report, gees. And Jim, just telling Bruce What for with his family, and Bruce just letting him... :) i dunno why it makes me happy, but it does.

anyway, loving his story so far!!!

I'm glad it makes you happy, because I think that's a big part of their dynamic in this story, Jim is walking the edge between defiance and foolhardiness, and Bruce is JUST intrigued enough to let it slide...

I'm glad the story thrills you! I missed Jim too, I was actually having a hard time developing Bruce (and I think it was important to develop him rather than just throw out that he randomly turned out this way), which is why I spent so many chapters on him, but finally, I have a bit of groundwork I can move forward on, and there's a real sense of why Bruce is the way he is, now. So, more Gordon from now on!
