kwc.org dead
I returned from vacation to find my computer acting funny. It started crashing and immediately rebooting, which is always a bad sign because it means the hardware is failing. I was hoping to be able to get a good backup of it before it became really flaky, but it went down for good tonight. It looks like I'll have to do a motherboard upgrade earlier than planned. This is probably a good thing, because my dad's new computer is faster than mine, and that just won't do.
kwc.org will be down for another day, and maybe several more as I ponder how to protect myself against future problems like this. When it reappears it may be filled with a bunch of posts that I was intending to make, such as to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hopefully whatever the problem was hasn't started corrupting the data on disk. I have a bad feeling that the memory went bad, which is never a good thing, and it's been two months since my last real backup I believe, which is stupid of me.
Hmm, another good result of this is that I can hold off posting my New Years resolutions until I bring kwc.org back online... (damn you)
