Here it is, an glimpse of my work

Yes, this is an excerpt of my book. It does not take place in the first book so don't look for it. It actually takes place far along in my series chronology. But enough of that, here it is.

Los Angelas was smoldering. The fires, which were so strong at the beginning of the battle, were finally starting to die. Smoke filled the air and was swept across the debris-filled roads and seemed to wrap around what remaining structures could be found. The once great city seemed to have descended into Hell itself. Only one thing could be seen: the lights of Heaven's Tower.
Zach was sitting behind a blasted car, reloading his two Longinous pistols. His hair was matted with sweat and blood, and his trenchcoat and clothes were tattered from the fight. Sliding magazines into his pistols he stood up, and checked himself. There were a few grazes, and one or two cut. He didn't bother doing anything with them, and left the shelter of the car and moved towards the large glass doors. He stopped momentarilly, and then kicked open the doors.
Kicking open the doors, he swiftly moved past the security checkpoints, half walking, half jogging through the main lobby. Moving through two more doors, he found himself in a large hallway, with two rows of columns on either side of the main walkway. Tiled in odd patterns, and with images of dragons and demons on every column, its seemed ominous. Zach quickly readied his guns, flicking the safeties off of his two guns. He scanned the room, his eyes falling on a small set of steps and the elevators that led up.
Suddenly, clapping could be heard all throughout the room. Zach's eyes narrowed on the doors and a man in a deep black suit suddenly appeared, a long black coat flowing silently behind him. He walked a closer to Zach, clapping all the while. He was smiling, though behind his black eyes only malice could be seen. "Congratulations, Mr. Weathers. Damascus will be pleased you made it this far. I welcolme you to Paradise, my brother." He gave a short bow and then stopped walking
Zach's eyes narrowed dangerously. "I feel honored that he sent the second in command to take me out," said sarcasticly. The man stopped coming forward when Zach's guns aimed right at his head. "I'll tell him you fought well, Rasheed. That might make you feel better when your saving a place for him in Hell."
"That won't be nescessary. I doubt Damascus will actually take intrest in this fight. He cares only for your battle with him. I do find it interesting, Weathers, that you paved the way to our Heaven with a road of corpses," said Rasheed as he turned and walked a little further away from Zach. On his back as a curved short sword. He turned quickly again and faced Zach, his eyes narrowing vicously. "Do you know what I am?"
Zach made no move to speak. Instead, he thought flat out "Evil."
Rasheed smiled again. "Zach, you are right. I am evil."
Zach's eyes widened.
"I am evil," he said again. "I am what everyone fears the most. One who can break into every sanctuary a human holds dear. Though you should have nothing to fear, becuase like the rest of us, you aren't human."
Zach fired his guns in quick succession, sending two bullets flying at Rasheed. Rasheed's head snapped backwards and a cloud of red filled the air behind his head. Zach smiled and started to put his guns away.
"I wouldn't do that, Weathers. This battle is far from over." Rasheed was suddenly still standing, totally unharmed. The two bullets clattered harmlessly to the floor. "I'm afraid that you don't understand what your dealing with." Rasheed drew his sword and slowly started to float above the floor.
"What are you!?" Zach exclaimed. He prepared to fire again, but his fingers froze on the triggers.
"Telepathic. Psychokinetic. Telekinetic. Psychic. There are many things that I have been described as. None of them really fit though," Rasheed stated thoughtfully. His shadow started to waver and move, growing slowly larger. "You have dragged this city into Hell itself. I'll show you what you have helped create."
Zach started to move. Rasheed's shadow started to move about the room, darkness enveloping the room slowly. Zach jumped and rolled behind a column, springing up again and running for another one. Rasheed slowly floated towards him, his eyes starting to take on an unearthly glow.
"So Zach, do you think you can take me?" Rasheed asked, spinning his sword in his right hand. He watched Zach run, getting his aim ready. Rasheed sent a rolling blast of mental energy that toppled the hitman. Zach looked up at him.
Rasheed smiled his same vicious smile, and looked down at Zach. "What do you think, Zach?"
Zach said nothing, but readied himself to dodge, only thinking of how much he hated the arabian seer.
Rasheed started to float backwards into the enveloping darkness. He started to laugh maniacly as the blackness started to swallow him up.
"I'm glad you think so. One should always hate the devil."

Enjoy. Comment on how you like it.
