when it pains, it roars.

So today my dad says "hey let's go to the record store" so I was all "alright" and he was all "hooray!" so I was all "yeah." So we went. When we got there, we looked around for about an hour. I bought a Rilo Kiley album. I feel nearly angry at myself that I continue to inadvertantly support Saddle Creek, despite the fact that I hate the assholes, because there are a couple of really good bands that released some CDs on there. So I slit my wrists with a broken up Benny Goodman album I bought in the used section. Then when my dad is buying his Beatles stuff, I see this flyer for a Really Really Free Market at the corner of Lane and Wilmington. So I'm like "hey dad let'go to the pahtee" and he's all "alright" and I was all "hooray!" so he was all "yeah." So we went.

I have come to a conclusion.

Crust punks are the best kind. They are adoarble and sit on outside downtown giving away old shoes and books and handing out their zines and newspapers and flyers for free. They are so very sweet. I nearly took a free patch, but was certain that I wouldn't understand whatever kooky political message was behind it so I didn't. I had fun watching the boy silkscreen them, though. Gave me some ideas and whatnot.

My dad and I listened to this bluegrass band of crustie kids. They were cute. They had an audience of about five, and there were maybe six or seven of them. The only ones who really seemed like they were into it were the guitar girl and one of the fiddlers. We recognized the girl to be from a clogging group that goes to Fiddler's Grove (see my entry however many down for pictures.) She was very friendly and my dad gave her his email address.

Also, did I mention I have a crush on every crusty kid ever? 'Cause I do.

ps- they were giving out bicycle wheels and doing repairs! IT WAS ADORABLE K?

pps- it was in the news? man, people over-react. click for an article
