I really don't care how un-PC or bitchy this sounds but I am pissed and I know a lot of other people feel the same but won't say anything.
I am so freaking annoyed by all this coverage of rescuing people from Galveston and surrounding areas. Guess what....if you were too fucking stupid to listen to all the warnings to get out, ignored all the people saying if you didn't get out there would be no one to come in and get you, and sat in your fucking house....you deserve to still be there. Stop spending my fucking tax dollars rescuing these idiots.
There is no excuse for anyone stuck in there. They had plenty of warning, there were plenty of buses to shelters available, and the cops went door to door and told people they had to get out. I am tired of this shit. Let them stay there and if they drown, starve, or whatever else. Let it be a lesson to people in the future to get the hell out.
I have no sympathy for anyone who doesn't evacuate for a hurricane when there are plenty of options to do so. Don't give me this low-income or elderly bullshit. There are plenty of cheap and free evacuation options. Save the money to rescue people who are hit by natural disasters where there are little to no warnings - tornadoes, landslides, tsunamis, etc. These people knew for almost a week that there was a good chance they would get a direct hit from a Cat 3 storm and they were to stupid to leave.
140,000 people ignored the mandatory evacuation order and now I'm supposed to pay to save their asses?
