Trailer here. I'm torn on this one, because I saw the special they had on the Discovery Channel a couple years ago and it made an impression on me,
so watching the trailer for the movie I can't help but pick things out where the film makers deviated from what really happened. I understand why they changed things, obviously the formost being it's hollywood so of course they have to mess it up a little, but also because while what really happened is an amazing ghost story, for a movie, it doesn't have a satisfying conclusion. There are so many unanswered questions that in real life are understandable, but in the context of a movie are just annoying. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I'm going to try and keep an open mind or at least keep the nitpicking down to a minimum.
Although I do have one tiny (re. HUGE) concern after watching the trailer. In real life the family moved into the haunted house because they're oldest son has cancer and they needed to be closer to his doctors, and they didn't really mention it, so I don't know if they just left it out of the trailer or it's just not a part of the script. I hope it's the former because I feel like that adds a more interesting (i.e. creepy) layer to the story and if they decide to get rid of that I'll be (REALLY) dissapointed.
