Yesterday TravelChannel surprised me with an Amazing Race marathon. Which meant that I didn't really get around to taking a shower/getting out of my pjs until around 6'o clock at night. Which wasn't that big of a deal until my friend Andrew showed up and had to endure me being smelly for a couple of hours. It was a good thing he came over though, Krista was out of the house so we got to plot for the suprise party. It's on saturday so i'm starting to freak out a little, and she's been so stressed lately I just want her to have a really good time.
So after I made myself decent and we had finished making plans for Operation Desert Storm, I was telling Andrew about this yummy thing I saw Tyler Florence make earlier on fooodnetwork and suprise suprise it turns out that mr. culinary school actually knows how to make it. And even better, it's actually an old family recipe...those italians. My family's version of an "old family recipe" is mac and cheese with peas and tuna fish in it.
Anyway, this is what we made (well, not exactly, i got the picture from the internet) it's called cioppino, and for those of you who don't know that is a "Sicilian seafood stew" which is very good, go Andrew's family!!
