VOOOIIII! [He takes that as consent so Liet isn't allowed to charge him later. He's coming straight for him with his sword, striking diagonally at his chest.]

[Liet's eyes narrow and he brings up his sword to block before hopping back and striking in return.]

[Sidesteps the strike and swings his blade at Liet's gut. Secretly he's pleased that Liet blocked that first strike. Fighting a good opponent is much more fun than just slaughtering some kid.]

[Liet growls and backs away more--keeping on the defense isn't something he wants to do, so he aims to use the distance to his advantage and circles wide.]

[When Liet tried to create space, Squalo pushed forward wanting to keep it close. He made a few halfhearted jabs to tease his opponent and test his reflexes.] You're not dead yet! That's better than I expected!

[Liet knows he's being toyed with, and so even as he moves out of the way he strikes in return.] I don't plan on dying fighting someone so arrogant.

It's not arrogance if it's true! [He parries the strikes and the two of them end up trading blows back and forth. Squalo was sure that deep inside, Liet wanted this fight to be serious. All really swordsmen had to. It was the only way to truly test your skills.

Plus it was fun.

The next time he pushed aside one of Liet's blows, he lunged forward instead of attacking with his sword and attempted to slam into Liet's chest with his shoulder.]
