Along with other top officials, including the last President of the Polish government-in-exile, Deputy Speakers of both chambers of the parliament, Polish Army generals, president of the Institute of National Rememberance, President of the National Bank of Poland, Army bishops and a large number of other politicians and their families.

the Katyń Massacre, and families of the victims were, reportedly, also there on the plane. According to the media, there were no survivors. The duties of the president will be carried by the Marshal of the Sejm until the election, which must take place sometime in the next two months and two weeks at the latest (although I doubt that it'll take as long).
I am terribly sorry for all those touched personally: the families, friends and colleagues. On my part, I'm afraid of the spin that I am afraid might end up given to these events and how my grandparents with their proneness to conspiracy theories, might react.
Regardless of anyone's political affiliation, this is a terrible loss. [*] [*] [*]
