These two days I was wearing leggings + long thick socks (from American Apparel and Marshall's) with another pair of cheap thinner socks underneath. When I went out at night I had 2 pairs of tights on and yeah it was freezing and it sucked, but the club was only a few blocks away. In general I look for over-the-knee socks with some wool content and layer them.
