Within a few minutes, Maddi is nudging open the door with her foot, a few Vicodin in one hand and a glass of water in the other. She's been tending to her sister ever since she got out of the hospital.

Honestly, she doesn't mind it, but she wishes Lily would be a little more patient.

"I heard you the first time," she says as she hands her the pills and the water.

"Whatever." Lily grabs the pills and water and shoots Maddi a scathing look. She took forever. Lily takes the pills and damn near downs the water. Why the fuck do pills take almost half an hour to work.

Lily falls back on her bed and stares at the ceiling. She looks to Maddi lazily and says, "Why are you still here?"

Pause.

Lily's eyes widen and she sits up.

"Um. Actually, Maddi?" Lily flashes a winning smile and gestures beside her, where a good chunk of king-sized bed sits unoccupied. "Wanna sit down?"

Maddi's halfway towards the door when Lily invites her to sit down. She turns around, blinks a couple of times, then finally manages an "uhm, sure" before actually doing so.

Oh, God, she's so confused. Moodswing whiplash.

Lily throws her arms around Maddi (really) and hugs her tightly (really). She rests her head on Maddi's shoulder and says, "Can we talk?"

She misses this. She misses laying in bed all day with Elias and talking about nothing. Now her days are spent ignoring Seth and getting shot.
