fieldtrips galore!

so last thursday our science and technology class had a fieldtrip to an ancient chinese observatory. sad to say, but that's the only class i find interesting here and it doesnt even fulfill any GERs. anyways, the observatory had liek 8 ancient instruments like amillary spheres. all really cool stuff. afterwards, our prof/stanford osp treated us to one the best dinner's in china yet. we had this fish that was served in a big bowl. it was called fish cooked in water but apparently the water was all oil. one big bowl of spicy oil. it was sooooooo good. all in all great day.

last friday we had a class fieldtrip to a buddhist temple. this was for my female deities class. woot. we took a tour with our prof and his wife of the temple grounds and the source of the spring which looked like a bunch of rocks with barely any runnign water. me and yf got to offer some incense and we both felt really good afterwards. i should totally do that more often. it's been something i learned when i was small but more recently i have been coming to respect buddhsim more and more in my life. i can't say im buddhist or that i have A religion but it was definitely a great experience. im also glad that i had someone to pray with there. whee big brothers. actually everyone here asks if i'm yf's girlfriend, and he says he'll start telling everyone (chinese folk) that i'm his little sister haha. apparently we have similar eyes and skin tone. lol.

last saturday was the great wall. which i have much to post about but i will do it later. miss ya all!!!
