my friend at work gave me 3 balls of bernat's worsted yarn, (pink, green and blue) as she bought by accident and cannot return it (lost the bill). i was thinking of making simple scarves out of it, but i wasn't sure if anyone could recommend something else? is the yarn good for dish rags? i'm not good at them but i'm willing to practice ( Read more... )

You could also try making potholders with the yarn. It's not a bad yarn for dish cloths, since it's acrylic and can be washed easily. Or, you could try making bookmarks. That's a simple project that can be done in an afternoon.

When I read the colours I instantly thought that it would make a funky braided scarf from this post http://community.livejournal.com/novice_knitters/605430.html

For dishrags, you really want to use washable cotton. A worsted wool yarn is better for scarves, arm warmers, that kind of things.

Handwarmers? They can be done with one skein and probably take about an afternoon to make if you do them on straights and then sew them up.
