(no subject)
It's my first update in quite a while so I suppose I have a bit to catch up on.
On Valentine's day, Aliesha and I got together around 4 and just decided to be spontaneous. She got me a George Foreman grill (the GREATEST Valentine's day gift ever, and I've been talking about wanting one for months, thaaaaaanks honey) It's saved my life from starvation three times in the past 2 days already.
Going back a couple of weeks, I spoke to Steve and had him fill out my May project application, so I'm going to be interning at The Space for the entire month of May. He gave me a lot of ideas for things that I'll be doing, like sitting in at the studio, running shows, and, the best part: he's giving me a date in May that I can book entirely on my own, choosing whichever bands I want, which brings me to my next point:
Today Adam, Christian, and I finally got together to play. We've been talking about doing a three piece band for a while now, and finally came together. Adam and I jammed on a drum and bass dance-ish song for a bit, and Christian came and added an awesome guitar part. Aside from that we worked on two other songs, one of which I wrote, and the other being Christian's. I couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. We all seem to be on the same page creatively and are all sort of looking for the same sound. Oh, I'm playing drums and synthesizer in this band by the way, and it's an entirely different feel to writing songs.
I think I'm failing a couple of classes, but I'm working on fixing that, I'm a 2nd semester senior, so all I'm worried about at this point is passing. I got into Adelphi, SUNY Purchase, and Hartford University with a scholarship, so I'm just waiting to hear back from the rest of the schools I applied to. I was waitlisted at Hofstra, but that's alright.
