Things I realized yesterday.
- The Romero-directed zombie films are far superior for the sole reason that they don't have much background information pertaining to the formation of the zombies i.e. what exactly is causing them to rise from the dead. Each film (Dawn, Day and Night) starts with the cast right in the middle of the chaos. No build up, story-line, etc. This doesn't mean it's just mindless violence. Quite the contrary. Dawn, in particular, is one of the most brilliant and realistic films in horror movie history. Zombies being slow and lathargic adds both suspense and the idea that if put in said situation, you could easily get out of it, but with a little thought you realize quickly that you'd probably do the same thing as in the movies: find a house, building, etc. and lock yourself up in it, potentially trapping yourself. It's human nature to approach a situation uneducated and think you have it figured out, only to panic when it really happens. The other films have too much plot, storyline, etc. and they break the normal zombie aesthetic. Zombies can now talk, function with their heads cut off, run, etc. That basically shatters the image and overall scariness of the zombie ideal.
- There is something seriously wrong when my playlist includes the Get Up Kids, Rainer Maria and the Postal Service. Ladies and gentlemen, Toby Chan is a faggot.
- Heroin is the last thing I need to start using again. My old dope buddy, Sam tried to detox and lasted four days, complete with convulsions, vomiting and hot sweats. Not that cool.

Last night was another beautiful night with the most beautiful person alive. Perfect.
