Wow, Am I Still Alive? Why, Yes, I am!
I can't believe how long its been since I made a post! I gotta say, though, that last six weeks of school felt like a freakin' marathon. I didn't think I was gonna make it! Some of the kids were rather horrid and just plain done, done, done. It makes for a very difficult last month and half of school. I'm so happy to have a break! I hope next year won't be as bad as I fear--I won't go into details, but I dread this next school year so bad. :(
So, now we're into summer ball. Only my little girl is playing :(. I tried to bribe son to play, he's been playing since pre-school, but no cigar. I always said we'd never MAKE our kids play ball if they didn't want to, so I guess I gotta stick by what I said...but it sure is hard when he was doing so well at the end of last season.
Oh, and hey! I'm excited about my upcoming meet up with gaelicspirit and thruterryseyes ! I'm a little (read: a lot) nervous because I'm so insecure about myself, but still looking forward to it. Also, I signed up for NaNoWriMo...but am still undecided about participating. I really feel I owe it to you folks to finish my WIP before doing anything else....so, unless I somehow kick into first gear and get WCA finished before November, I probably won't participate this year.
I still haven't gone up to Joplin, MO since the tornado...our church was supposed to take a group up to help out, but I've not heard where they are with those plans. I live about 50 minutes from Joplin and have spent quite a bit of time there. If we go to a mall, it's always the one in Joplin. Lol, my hubs and I were eating out in Joplin when I first began to suspect that I was pregnant with our son. We bought tests on the way home that day--and were so happy because we'd been trying for so long! Plus, its the home of my alma mater MSSU, where I finished my bachelors degree. So, yes, this town means a lot to me and, from the pictures I've seen, the town is barely recognizable. So sad.
Well, that's my update for what's going on. Kinda boring, yeah, but I missed my journal *pets LJ* and wanted to post something--maybe at some point I'll have some recs or maybe a wall to share. Until then, hope everyone is well and having a good summer!
