Eeps! I feel like I've been gone forever, ya'll! So last week, my sister and her husband generously covered the cost of the room so we could take our annual Christmas in Branson trip with them and we were gone a few days last weekend...then I got sick before we got home. It was the stomach bug variety--and what a LONG ride home THAT was--but I've spent the rest of the week recovering (lots of sleeping) from that and trying to get things at work squared away before we go on Christmas vacation. We have Monday and a half day on Tuesday and then no more school (work) until January 3rd. So I've been MIA for a while, yeah? So, I was briefly checking around on my flist and saw that I've missed quite a bit in your lives. Some of you are working a lot of hours, some have sick kids, some of you have been sick yourselves, some of you have had other things going on and I don't even know where to start when there are so many of you I'd like to comfort, bolster and prop up.
And now, with Christmas fast approaching and so very little of my Christmas shopping done--not to mention not a single Christmas card filled out-- I feel a little scattered about (in silent panic mode, actually). I'm going with my sister to do some shopping tomorrow, so I'm quite sure I'll not be on tomorrow. By the time we get back home, I'm sure bed will be the only thing on my mind. So, rather than doing nothing, I want to say that I'm thinking of you gals with fondness and hoping you all get the rest/medical care/strong shoulder you need in your lives.
So everyone keep these peeps in mind when saying your nightly prayers. I know
gaelicspirit ,
a_phoenixdragon and
secretlytodream have been working hard (whether that be school or job) and could use a hammock in the Bahamas,
janissa11 ,
aphrodite33 and
deanvica23 could use healing prayers and strong shoulders to get them beyond their current troubles, and thank goodness
moondropz had some good optical news! Sorry I didn't stop by to leave more personalized comments on YOUR journals...but hopefully you see this and know I'm sending you my best!
Also, keep my gorgeous daughter in your prayers as she caught the stomach bug from me and, though she's much better now, she's still not feeling good. She's already in bed asleep and has been since before 7 PM, which is extremely unusual for her.
And, I have a great-niece who is in intensive care due to illness complications from an e-coli infection. The illness is called hemolytic uremic syndrome and is very serious. She's only 3 and half and is a very sick little girl and, at best, will be spending her Christmas in the hospital. But, given how bad she was when they took her in, she's really lucky to be alive at all. So keep those two little ones in mind as well.
Lastly, a big thank you to
jellicle who sent me a Christmas plate of virtual goodies! Thank you so much! That was awesome. :) *hugs*
May all of my flist have a great weekend, find what you need to power through another coming work week and feel the warmth of the season all around you!
