'cause cinema is such a miracle...

two very good films seen during these few days..
friday night, finally seen....The Outsiders by Mr. "godfather/apocalypsenow i'm the best and it's true" Coppola, and i really enjoyed it. didn't imagine it was shooted like that: a clear tribute to 50's-60's cinema, Gone with The Wind, west side story, jimmy dean films....all that....i'm happy i've seen it. it's a good film. really really good.

Nature's first green is gold, / Her hardest hue to hold. / Her early leaf's a flower, / But only so an hour. / Then leaf subsides to leaf, / So Eden sank to grief. / So dawn goes down to day, / Nothing gold can stay.

I used to talk about killing myself all the time, man. But I don't wanna die now. It ain't long enough. Sixteen years ain't gonna be long enough. Hell, I wouldn't care so much if there hadn't been so many things I haven't done yet. So many damn things I ain't seen or done. That time when we were in Windrixville was the only time I've ever been away from my neighborhood.

Johnny: It's like the mist is what's pretty, ya know? All gold and silver.
Ponyboy: Hmm
Johnny: Too bad it can't stay like that all the time.
Ponyboy: Nothing gold can stay.

the second one...well...they've been talking about it so much in the last months...i knew it was very good. such a precious film (iaia got the dvd as a birthday present last night), now i know that too
...mr. burton...tim burton....Corpse Bride...
aww. my heart is still crying. so sad, so touching and moving. great film. we watched it all together at lunch. the three brujas together again on sunday, after so many months. i'm glad.

Why go up there when people are dying to get down here?

If I touch a burning candle I can feel no pain. In the ice or in the sun it's all the same. Yet I feel my heart is aching. Though it doesnt beat, it's breaking. And the pain here that I feel... try and tell me it's not real. I know that I am dead... yet it seems that I still have some tears to shed.

Now when she opened her eyes she was dead as dust...
