On the road stages, where I presume the national speed limit rules apply, how do you stop the drivers breaking that if they're otherwise behind in the times?
That's what the police are for, and they tend to be out in force on rally weekends as my driving licence could demonstrate. :-)
It's not usually an issue though. The road sections tend to be mainly over roads with a 60mph limit but the drivers are given set times that allow them to drive at an average of 30mph, so they have AGES. Arriving early will get them as much of a penalty as arriving late - the competitive sections are all on closed roads on this type of rally (as opposed to on the road rallies which I sometimes do).
That's brilliant :) and keep talking as much stuff as possible - I'm waiting for our accreditation contract to come through to see how much we can show - but I'm hoping to get a few drivers and engineers interviews as well as crowd reaction :D Oh and watch the Rally off course :)
