This morning
ephraim and I have been looking at things for children's rooms. I have found the gender stereotypes to be shocking - why on earth do things need to be labelled as "for girls" or "for boys"? Why does it seem that there's almost always only a choice between something pale pink with princesses on or an identical thing in blue with tractors on? Personally I'm rather annoyed that we're probably going to have to wallpaper the child's room with Winnie The Pooh - the reason that I find this annoying is that I've always found Winnie the Pooh to be ridiculously sissy (sorry Caroline!) and was hoping that my kid could avoid that kind of sissy stuff. But if the choice is bright blue tractors or bright pink princesses, then I get we'll take the muted lemony bears.
Mind you, I was amused to find that when I searched "child" on the Wickes website, the first result listed was "barbecue lighter fluid"!
