theme pics?

so, justreadmyspine and others:

in the december2008 we used to do theme picture posts...like "babies in stripes" or "pajama babies" and on that day, we would post a pic or two that we had that fit the theme (even if it wasn't necessarily from that week.)

what would you think of doing this for one of our two photo posts?

Yes, I think it's a good idea.

agreed. Whenever I post the picture posts, I always lock them.

I feel ya. I have my photos of Efren locked down on everything else (facebook , myspace photobucket) so that only my friends can see them so this shouldn't be much different.

Anyway, in response to the topic... I think its a good idea!

So do I need to lock the original post when I post for picture days? Just set it to Friends Only or something? I've never locked posts before, except for making certain things in my own journal Friends Only. I don't lock anything on Facebook or MySpace, either, cuz I'm not worried about anything, but if others are, we can definitely lock pictures posts!

I also don't both locking things...the only reason my journal is locked is that I don't want students able to find it and read it, not because I think any pedophile is going to make an effort to find my blog or my fb page.

Yeah, I'm the same way - I don't think a pedophile is going to be on the prowl for pictures of my kid, and I also don't post nude photos, so I never even thought about locking the picture posts, but I will from now on.

I thought the community was friends only...if so, then only members can see the posts

shrug...personally it doesn't bother me but I'll respect majority opinion.

As a note, the moderator of the community can go back and retroactively friends-lock every post with the push of a single button. I did that when a former student made a comment on a friend's blog or facebook and it freaked me a bit.

That's how I feel - doesn't bother me but I respect majority opinion, so I'll make picture posts friends-only from now on.
