My daughter turns 4 months next week and she's starting to be able to fall asleep by herself for naps (as opposed to me rocking her to sleep). The only thing is, at first she was sleeping for a long time, and now she's taking something like 4 1-hr naps a day. I feel like I'm always putting her down for a nap. Could this be a sign of a growth spurt ( Read more... )

Growth spurt would be my first thought if Matteo was doing the same. Is she eating more/feeding for longer too?

Not really eating more/longer. From the beginning she ate every 1.5 hours and recently was drawing that out to 2 to 2.5 hrs, but now it's definitely at 2hrs. She had been taking 1.5-2.5 hour naps which would take her feedings to 2.5-3 hrs, but now she wakes up right in time for a 2hr feed.

God I wish, Sy is 4 months today, yest. he took 2 naps, one was 15 min's the other was around 35 mins! We got up at 8:30 he went to bed at 9:30... But he isnt cranky or anything, up all day playing with me???

He is def. going through a growth spurt though, as of friday through the weekend I felt like all I was doing is feeding him - yest I used some bottles I had where its hard to tell when he is on my breast n sure enough he ate ALOT more than he usually does...

SO I think you are right in line with a growth spurt!

You're so lucky. I'm lucky if i can get my man to take *more* than the 3-4 30minute naps he take each day. That's all, no more. I'd love 4 1-hr naps!
