So I've been married for going on 3 years. I registered for a crock pot because everyone told me I should and that it would totally change my life. In the 3ish years I've been married, I had used it exactly ONCE. I'm not a stew person overall so I was pretty sure it just wasn't my thing.
Until I had Elanor.
In my new mom group, the leader was talking about making household tasks more manageable and brought up the crock pot. I mentally rolled my eyes and told myself that I didn't like beef stew (or chicken stew or stew pretty much at all) and waited for the next topic. Until she was listing out the kinds of things that you can cook in the crock pot...like bbq chicken...really?
Then she mentioned a website.... crockpot365.blogspot.com Basically a woman decided to use her crockpot every day for 2008 and posted the recipes as well as the results each day.
I tried using my crock pot last week and I'm a total convert. I dumped some stuff in it, went into Boston for a walk and to take my dead iPod to the Apple Store to find out what could be done and when I came back 4 hours later, I still had 2 hours until dinner and my house smelled fantastic. And then we had the left overs for 2 days (I need to cut the recipes a bit I think). 3 days of dinner from effectively 15 minutes of work. AWESOME.
Easiest cooking ever.
I am officially a convert. I have my next few recipes already picked out.
Go check out the website...everything from baby food to brownies to stew to bbq to everything...seriously.
