A couple questions

Two very different questions.  First, books.  What books do you read to your kids that they seem to enjoy?  I have been reading Dr. Seuss and they seem to like the bright pictures, just wondering what everyone is reading ( Read more... )

i have the paraguard. at first the bleeding was horrific and i told my boyfriend i felt like the walking red sea but now it is much better. i also had bad cramps to begin with. i had mine put in at the end of december and now everything is fine.

my sister bought a bunch of baby einstein books (i hate that brand). i work at a book store so i am getting my son tons of books with lots of colors and interesting pictures. i plan on getting dr suess too especially since jack likes the way nonesense words flow together even more so if i can make my voice super silly

So with the IUD, you feel like you are pretty much back to normal now?

now? yes. a month ago? no.
at first it was a pain in the ass because i couldnt wear a tampon (they have to make sure the IUD stays in place) and i hate hate hate haaaate wearing pads.

but now i am back to normal. i also believe the copper ones, like the paraguard, are nonhormonal which is why i chose this one.

i got the paragaurd placed jan. 19th. the placement itself was uncomfortable, but over quickly. about the same as a pap. my doctor also commented that my cervix is tipped, so they had to clip it and pull it down to insert it, which isn't the norm. i spotted that day..it wasn't bad and had mild cramps for one day. i have not gotten my actual period yet, so i don't know if the bleeding will be worse than normal. so far, i like it and forget its in, actually.

We're reading to our older kids at bedtime every night and I find Sidney just isn't into it yet as he's usually only wanting to get nursed down for the night then. I should try when he's alert during the day...

I had the mirena placed back on the 27th and I bled a bit that day and the next, and have had spotting on and off ever since. I get intermittent cramping, but not daily and I've only had cramping so bad I needed to take something twice since.

Yeah, my kids aren't into being read to right before bed, but they do like it when I read to them in the later afternoon.

i have a copper IUD, too. insertion was sucky but whatever. i spotted for about a week. now it's fine. don't even notice it. i'm exclusively breastfeeding and family history indicates that i probably won't have periods while i'm doing so. i can't tell you if it will make menstruation a bitch.

oh, i'm reading her dr seuss, dennis lee, shel silverstein, classics like pat the bunny and goodnight moon, and some silly cloth books. she likes to grab at the cloth books. also, nursery rhymes...she likes the cadence.

I have the Mirena IUD. It hurt like hell getting put in, cramps the first 48 hours, and then I haven't had any problems since. I've had some super light break through bleeding, but no period as of yet.

Elanor likes Dr Seuss and Sandra Boyton thus far.
