Putting this behind a cut just cause I think bowel movement discussions might not be work safe :)

Ive had this problem... its like excruciating everytime I go to the bathroom... it kinda sucks and this sounds gross but the only thing I've found that helps is when I'm going to the bathroom to get some toilet paper or prep H wipes and kind of push around the area to help it come out easier :(

I've been so tempted to do that at times. It just hurts that bad.

I am there with you. The one thing I found that worked was the docolax stool softeners but it kinda gave me the shits which almost felt worse than trying to push out the hard logs. lol.

Those stool softners, same thing as colace pretty much, I AM taking those and still have these problems :(

totally! i came home on iron (blood loss) which is totally constipating and also percocet--same effect. i also had a zillion hemorrhoids come out when i delivered, so it's been no picnic and i feel your pain.

i keep a box of latex gloves in the bathroom and sometimes i need to don one and go in and "excavate". it's not pretty, but it is effective. sometimes just gentle pressure around the outside helps, but sometimes i really need to physically take it out. the gloves make it easier and way less gross. i also use tucks pads to help with the pain and bleeding after.

try colace. i take one extra strength for two days any time i take a percocet. good luck!

Funny thing is, I AM taking colace...twice a day and still have these problems.

I've been fortunate to not have hemorrhoids though, those went away as soon as I gave birth (C-section).

I talked to my midwife today at my 6w pp appointment and she said that what I'm experiencing (pain during BM & bleeding) might not necessarily be from hemorrhoids but it could be caused by an anal fisher and every time you have a BM the fisher reopens and bleeds more , she recommended Metamucil(sp) and 10 glasses of water a day. Not sure if this might be what you're experiencing as well, especially since you're bleeding a lot.

It sounds a lot like I do have an anal fissure, I've increased my water intake so far, and am going to the store tonight!
