water

I saw an ad on betterlivingthroughdesign saying, "one in eight people don't have access to clean drinking water." I clicked it. I watched a really powerful video. The charity organization is called "charity:water." They are privately funded to cover operation costs, and use 100% of donations to fund building new wells in communities that are severely in need of them.

I donated $20. I don't really need a new t-shirt or anything frivolous more than someone needs water, do I?

I feel really good about this cause and this charity. They seem uber legit, providing documentation of all wells built. They have fundraising kits, and I am feeling really strong about the idea of starting up an ongoing fundraiser at my school. I know Jordan feels really strongly about all of the problems going on in Africa (one of the main areas where good water quality is a serious issue), and I'd like to involve him and do this fundraiser/awareness effort with him. It'll make me feel really good, and it will do so much for others who really need it.

:)

Sleep now.
