I like to watch the puddles gather rain

Hey!

Just had my first experience ever with working out at a gym. It was a pretty good experience, especially considering prior anxieties. :P

If I didn't mention, I joined the YMCA on Thursday because it's starting to get cold outside, and I don't feel very comfortable biking in very cold weather. I can take being cold/wearing layers, but my lungs really can't. I find it very difficult to breathe, and rather than suffer with that, I figure a gym would provide me with a necessary workout until the weather gets better. :P

The gym itself was fine. All of the staff seems really nice, everyone just seems to do their own thing, and it's a calm, clean environment to work out in.

It makes me feel really good to work out regularly. I find mental and emotional solace and relief in it, and it makes my body feel good. I feel less tired, and more energized. I tend to have a healthier appetite, also. It gets me going for the day. While being at a gym and using a machine definitely is different than biking for real, solely because I can't be outside and in the same position of solitude, it's still seemed to do me good. I felt a LOT better after today, especially considering that I haven't worked out in a few days prior (poor weather and getting together the funds/necessities for a gym membership and work-out).

I will still try to make it a point to find my time to appreciate the outdoors to some capacity. I simply don't want to mess around with my lungs considering how sensitive my chest seems to be to cold air. That last sentence just sounded wrong. :P

Anyway, aside from me feeling initially anxious about the gym, it was a positive experience, and I got a good workout on a stationary bike. I also tried one of those run-in-motion things, where you move both your legs and your arms. It was kind of awkward at first to get going, but after I started, I REALLY liked it. The way it got my entire body moving was nice, and it was smooth, and took a lot of impact off of the knees that would normally be there, had I been actually running. I might start using that machine more, to get a better entire-body work-out. It'll probably be better for my heart, too.

Also, 90's music should never been underestimated! ^^;;

Well, gotta go and get ready to see "Where The Wild Things Are!" :3 Cya! :P
