Tobacco Oxfords

I've wanted a women's pair of oxford shoes for a while. No big pump heel, no crazy colors, just a simple, vintage-looking oxford that would look right on my foot. Realizing I'd probably never find what I wanted, I let go of that dream with a sigh.

And then, I stumbled into Burlington Coat Factory and FOUND THEM!

The brand is Sam Edelman, the style is Simona Oxford, in "Tobacco" Brown. Cost me $49. More than I wanted to spend, but I think I would have bought these still if the price tag was $100. I saw them, I put them on, and they felt like... mine. I don't know how to explain it. They just fit my feet right and felt natural to walk in, and I knew they were meant for me. ^__^;

While I LOVE the wingtip detailing on the front, I was absolutely AWED by the street-map design on the soles. Unfortunately, that makes me apprehensive to actually wear them, because I know that is eventually going to wear away or get soiled up. :( Gotta be well-loved sometime, though, right?

Still, they make me so happy! :D When I walk with them on hard floors, they make a nice clicking noise. Mmm. I also smile 'cause they'll have the dual use of helping me play the man. ;)

They are also actually of dress-shoe quality, so I probably could get the soles repaired (even if not with the same detailing) and the shoes refitted in the back once they wear out a bit. It's nice feeling as though they'll be more of a long-term investment. You can't re-sole sneakers (or, at least, it wouldn't make sense to).

Now to find some things to wear with 'em. :3
