Damn. Just...damn. I'd say those are mature thoughts/speech for 10 year olds, but having known more than my share in similar situations, they are forced to grow up and be self-reliant out of necessity. Great background piece.

Man, I couldn't even get through the first few paragraphs without crying. Hits too close to home for me. Your writing, however, never any complaints on that end.

Very difficult to read, but amazingly written. An excellent companion piece to flesh out Santana even more than you did in this verse.

I'm now going to read the Faberry fluff so i can be happy again!

That hurt, but it was beautiful.

I actually manged to keep from crying... till you had to throw in Quinn being so awesome.

"It's not forever. But I am. I swear."

It explains their friendship in the main story so much better. I've always loved the way you right Quinn and Santana, and having the backstory written down puts so much more weight behind it.

I love how you have them joking about Starwars, just to make themselves feel a little better. You did an awesome job of showing how they had to grow up faster, they don't sound like ten year olds but that's how it usually ends up isn't it?

I'm curious about Quinn's parents. It strikes me as similar to the shows canon, but you make it seem so much worse I'd like to actually see Quinn's parents reaction to something.
