In Praise of What Might Have Been
The following is a test trailer for an animated movie that was never made. The French artist went on to use this material for a very well regarded graphic novel. But the animation for the film, which is the story of Siegfried, the Germanic folk hero and subject of a couple of Wagner's operas, is fantastic. Coupled with the (quite literally) Wagenerian score, it evokes all sorts of feelings of myth and epic scale adventure. It makes my mythic sense tingle!
