JAZZ IS FIXED and humming happily. God, I can't hear his FAN now. He's a much happier pooter.
What happened was, several months ago, one of the plastic bits on his grill broke off and vanished. OK, cosmetic damage, no biggie. I could easily run him safely without a tiny piece. Now, he got this airplane engine type whine as I call it-- loud, but not "OH GOD END ME" loud. Fine, good on him....
Then a few nights ago he jammed up and said "Fuck you" and attempted computer Seppeku.
Got his fan to move with canned air, but he simply, well.... Sounded like a broken jet. His fan was loud, nasty, and plain ornery. He couldn't run. so off he went as I fetched the spare laptop.
Tonight, Dad wants to find the fan.... Opens up his butt.... (I told him to ground himself)
Picks at fan... and lo, a small plastic peice comes out. Huge compared to the rest, but such a bitty thing to nearly kill my baby!
In the end, Jazz lives on. and I think he's bitchy I used someone else since he booted slow, but he's happy now.
And happy Jazz means happy Nova.
