I went to Linuxworld SF on Tuesday. Got lots of swag. 7 new shirts, 2 128Mb keydrives, a nalgene bottle, and a kinetic flashlight that it amuses me to charge.
I rode a mechanical bull for 7 seconds for one of my shirts. I own.
Sun was sponsoring a ut2004 tournament. To enter, you had to collect 12 puzzle pieces from different parts of their booth and assemble them. There were to be 6 prelim rounds per day (3 days total), each round containing 6 players. At the end of the day, the 6 prelim winners would play in the semifinal, with the top two from that moving into the finals, to be held thursday afternoon.
Each player played on one of the new sun workstations, dual-monitored so people behind the players could see. Also, there was a Sun spectator attached to a big plasma screen, hopping around different POVs.
I won the tournament. And I won
this.
I am, as they say, a happy camper.
