I'm starting an new dragon painting this week. Hope to have a few by the time the polaris con art show rolls around in july. I think this will be another red one. Haven't done red since the one I sold at world con three years ago. I miss that one. It'll be good to have another bright painting around.

Ooh, that's pretty! *_* I love the stained glass look. How big was the actual painting? Do you do prints of your work? I'd seriously consider buying something like that. ^_^

it's 12"x36", so it's not very big. I do make prints, not of that one yet. It's so expensive even just for colour photocopies, and I find people are not willing to pay more than 5$ for a print when it costs me nearly that to get one done. The original painting went for 175$ at the art auction. It's the most I've ever gotten for my work and 20% of that went to the art show fee ( ... )

Ah, okay. I guess it's true that it can be hard to get people to pay for art when mass produced stuff can be so cheap in comparison. -_-

Do you have pictures of any of your other paintings? I'd be interested in seeing them. ^_^

And I can kind of relate to the being discouraged about making new stuff. Needlework was my big hobby before cosplay but I do very little of it now because it's expensive to get good materials for framing (acid free and in custom sizes). And even after I frame them, I don't really have many good places to hang them. I have a few samplers sitting around which I haven't been able to properly display. I'm hoping I'll finally have some place to hang them and some prints I've collected after renovations are done here and I have a sewing room.
