course angst

Wow. Overwhelming, life is.

1. MHC lovelies: 1776, tonight between 9-10, South Delle, be there or be a loyalist bastard whom nobody loves.

2. I feel like all of my courses are mediocre. Rel&Rev in the 19th-c West is about the 1848 German and the American abolition of slavery (which is a revolution???)... The intro courses have great profs but are intro courses... Marxian Economic Theory is econ, which I feel obligated to take but not interested in, plus there's a girl from Hampshire who described her social/political philosophy major as "pretty pomo" which killed me, and econ (esp Marx) just fills me with images of factories and workers with long days and I just kind of turn off my mind because bleehhhh... and Buddhism is an interesting topic but the class is really not amazing me and she grades harshly (which I respect but that's lame for something not amazing).

There's another religion course that I may or may not be interested in (Early Christianity in Conflict) or I could bug some people about this politics seminar which would be really interesting but probably a lot of work and just GUH WHY IS IT SO COMPLICATED. I just want a class that I'm *really excited* about.

I may drop Religion to minor status and be a Politics Major with a double minor-- Religion and History. Maybe. I wish I knew what I wanted to do with myself.

I should probably talk to, you know, my adviser, about all this, right? But I know he's doing a lot of work this weekend so I'd rather not bother him.

And let's not even get started on spring courses.

3. I finally got my paper on the Puritans back! I do love it dearly. Pyle thinks it would be good to develop at a later point and we shall see.

4. Phew. Otherwise, I'd say things are pretty good. I'm still reading the Adams-Jefferson letters which are fabulous obviously (except they do say a lot about dull things but they are business letters right now after all) and some things for classes, which I'll talk about later.

5. I love my friends who live far away and that I still do actually see them. Ximena living next door so far has been a mostly pretty awesome situation. And my roommate, Zoë, is pretty fabulous as well and complains about Ellis's poor metaphor usage to me and I love it. I miss CAish people very very much.

6. I hate the size and set up of paper newspapers but reading them makes me want to cut out articles and put them on my door. Somehow, this thought is occupying my mind.

7. Where is Becca? I want supper. OMG PROSPECT CLOSES AT 7? WTF. GRAR!
