Tv Show meme!
1. Based on an in comments suggestion, make a mock up of your own tv show.
2. Create a cast of characters, soundtrack, set, whatever you want.
3. Post to your journal and give other people suggestions.

From gildedage : Young minister/priest tries to convince his New England congregation/preacher that he's worth listening to. Any time period.  I could change things up by taking advantage of the latter but what would be the fun in that? My first inclination would be a miniseries about the oh-so-earnest Roger Williams but I don't know enough about him, actually!  So may I present:

Remember Wade
He's not your grandma's preacher.
He's your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandma's.

Fresh out of college, Remember Wade is called back to his hometown to be the new minister.  But not everyone in this unnamed rustic village in Puritan Massachusetts is on board with his quirky and sometimes unorthodox methods, least of all the old Magistrate Elithorp.  How will he balance his hopes and expectations -- and his romantic interest in the Magistrate's daughter -- without getting voted off the island town?

The Reverend Remember Wade: Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, Remember is every college grad with a solid future: excited about sharing his new ideas, bringing his work to life, and showing the world what he can do.  Unlike most college grads, though, he has no time for making mistakes-- as soon as he accepted the position, he wrote himself a note, and keeps it well in his mind: "Mt 13: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house."  Leading his new flock means not having the sheep rise up and dismiss him, and so each day brings a new question of picking his battles.  The young hero is earnest, but fair, and is determined to use his role in the community to make it the envy of the whole colony.

Magistrate Habbakuk Elithorp: Every hero has a nemesis, every bright young do-gooder has a old crochety nay-sayer, and Remember Wade has Magistrate Elithorp.  Elithorp is the big man in town, and has been as long as Remember can remember.  Sayward thinks he knows godly from ungodly better than anyone, and is on a mission to cleanse the village of the ungodly -- or those that don't see eye-to-eye with Elithorp's plans.  He poorly disguises that he never wanted Wade as their pastor, but having been with fever when the appointment was made, the elders had been free to follow their hearts.  Word in the Commons is that Elithorp wants his own son, Elihu, for the job, and is biding his time until Eli is ordained.

Elihu Elithorp: Not actually a character, but referred to at least once an episode.  He used to be a mischief-maker and what one might call a "douche" but has allegedly turned down the straight and narrow during his studies at Harvard.  Remember would attest to the opposite, though he forgives the younger student for battling the adversity of being named Eli Elithorp.

Susanna Elithorp: Pretty Susanna, or Susannah, has had Remember's eye since that day when he was nine and she laughed at him for tripping in cow dung.  Upon his return he found her engaged to one Bartholomew Sayward, who dies by bear attack in the pilot.  A little gossipy, and a lot sassy, Susanna's spent her life using her father's position and blind spot to get away with far more than the average young woman.  For one thing, she's the only person who will publicly stand up to Magistrate Elithorp.  Despite her shortcomings, her generous heart and friendly demeanor keep her popular among the town, and she's always sure to help out when goodwives are burdened by not-so-good children.  Sure, Susanna's in mourning, and her father is out to feed Remember to those bears, but that can't stop a fellow from dreaming.

John Peyton: Chandler, best homebrewer in the town, and Remember's right hand man.  John and Remember were near inseparable growing up, but as they grew up it was clear that Remember's academic skills would send him for more serious schooling, while John's simpler ways would earn him a fine apprenticeship and career making candles.  Where Remember thinks big, John thinks sharp -- he's not fancy, and doesn't care to get into theoretical or theological arguments, but he can talk his way into a bargain or read any face easier than Remember can a line of Greek.  Occasionally chastised for promoting rowdiness and selling his famous ale, he's always eager for a laugh at Elithorp's expense, and would love to see someone take the old man down a notch.

Previously, on Remember Wade -- the Pilot: Remember Wade arrived home in his town, nervous for his first Sabbath lecture.  A cool housewarming visit from Magistrate Elithorp makes him even more nervous.  He's welcomed back by his family and John, who lets him in on the scoop about Elithorp's issues, Eli's aspirations, and Susannah's betrothal.  Before he can hit his books, he's visited by an onslaught of congregants, each with their own complaint or not-so-helpful suggestion, until Susannah arrives, grief-stricken with the news of her fiance's death by Bear.  The next two days sees an escalation of gossip and accusation as the townsfolk try to blame Bartholomew's death on anything but bears, be it witchcraft, Indians, or all-out manslaughter.  Remember, with some help from Susannah and John, tames the storm and successfully delivers his first sermon.  It's a hit in town, and everyone is pleased except for Elithorp, who will have to step up his game if he wants Remember removed.

Zomg I spent wayyyyyy too much time on this.  I wish I were better at Knowing Actors so I could put up PBs.  Suggestions welcome. :D

Let me know if you want a pitch of your own!

*That is not Remember Wade, and is about 20 years too late for him. Also that guy was a major asshole. See: Salem, 1692.  But it looks neat.
