So I got through finals and lived, and then promptly got sick. We managed to get most everything out of the room and into storage, and then spent a few days sleeping and watching all of Robin Hood. Commencement times were lovely-- the commencement concert went well and baccalaureate was actually interesting, and laurel parade was SO PRETTY.
Thennnnn it was to Somerville! We stayed with Ellen, which was pretty groovy and full of YouTube goodness. Tuesday we went to Harvard's Fogg Museum. Ximena's favorite was
Raphael and La Forarina, and I think mine was Watts's
Sir Galahad. Wednesday was Concord (both CA and the town) and then to the North End with one of X's high school friends. Thursday, we both felt like crap so we just went to lunch at a Peruvian restaurant and stayed in until Ximena's computer DIED and we had to rush to the shiny, futuristic, and totally useless Apple store downtown. Finally, Friday, we checked out an exhibit of John Adams's letters at the Mass Historical Society and got tea and crumpets (yes, crumpets) with Hallie and Ellen, and then hung out with Wendy and sent her home with the turtles. It was a really nice time and Ximena and I were sad to leave Boston and that things weren't different with like... her at Harvard instead of Yale and me at a Boston firm instead of DC but what can you do?
So now I am in DC. It is fairly sticky and warm-- not in an unlivable way, but in a "I am not used to this" way. The house is very nice and I have my nice little room and my ramen and milk. Work starts tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll post again about that.
