and it was PITIFUL.
There were only about 18 booths and over half of those were doctor's offices or hospitals. I mean, some of the agencies and booths were giving away feww stuff but mostly it was just a medical fair. Anyway, how this relates to babywearing is that there was NO ONE selling or promoting slings, mei tais or any kinds of carriers. There was, however, a booth that sold those horrid Bumbo seats and nebulizers shaped like trains and teddy bears. gah. How disgusting....they're trying to make asthma CUTE.
Anyway, I spoke to one of the organizers and told her I made (and used) baby carriers and had friends who made (and used) slings and we would have liked to have a booth, not just to sell stuff but also to pass on information! But I didn't find out about the expo until the day before. She was kind of bugged and said she had a hard time getting the word out and she would have liked to have more people there with different things. sigh. so maybe something might come of that....
