Last week, my group at work held a sale for charity in which we sold balloons and roses for co-workers to give each other. On Friday the building was filled with hundreds of red heart-shaped balloons hovering above the desks. It was one of the most festive sights I've ever seen, and it took all my will not to run through the aisles with my arms outstretched and grabbing at the strings. Today, there are still plenty left, and I wonder if anyone would mind if I took them home before they start deflating. If not, I've decided that for every holiday will be commemorated with as many mylar balloons as I can stuff in my apartment and fly from my desk.
I gave the people in my group small heart-shaped boxes of chocolate and got roses and balloons in exchange. On Saturday, I did a little shopping, took a long, long walk, and afterward, made lobster tail and asparagus for dinner with caramel nut brownies for dessert. It was awesome to say the least.
Yesterday, I saw the movie Coraline, which has the best 3-D effects I've ever seen. If you can imagine being the size of a puppet and walking inside and around inside a colorful wonderland, well, that's pretty much what it's like. Overall, it was such a nice weekend, I had a moment of being shocked that I'm still single. I'd totally date me. :)
