Hahah Acer really are crap...but you know what, I already told you I Haaaaaaaaaate hate hate Dell with a passion. I hope to never use a dell laptop ever again as long as I live
and as for "step down" to AMD Turion 64 X2 from intel core duo...PPPPFFFFT, you know I don't agree with that :P The only difference is you get more for your money with AMD :P haha
=) Thanks for looking out for me. I think that chart is out of date - it's got the Core Duo in the other column, not the newer Core 2 Duo. =) But yeah, I am bringing myself around and at this point I am ready to swing either way. Or I just won't buy at all, which is seeming increasingly likely. =)
No, if you don't know what it is, you probably won't miss it. =) It's a fast, digital connection pioneered by Apple, and their early iPods used it exclusively. It's also the only way to get the pure digital video feed out of most MiniDV camcorders, except for some newer ones that support USB 2.0 (which you have). FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 (which came somewhat more recently) are about the same for speed, but FireWire 800 is even better (but hard to find).
We have a MiniDV camcorder, and I want to edit its video, so the built-in FireWire connection and a fast hard drive were musts for me.
