I will always love lists, no matter what

Things that happen when you are away from home for too long:

1) Your room somehow becomes the dumping ground for everyone else's crap. Also, your own stuff seems to rearrange itself. (I feel like this may be due to point #2.)

2) Your kitten gets a hell of a lot larger, slightly more annoying, and decides your room is her own. Seriously, she looked disgruntled. And my nice white duvet cover has a nice layer of black fur aaaaaalll over it.

3) Your brother learns how to play YET ANOTHER instrument (harmonica), on top of the other four (voice, piano, guitar, drums) and on top of the amazing sporting prowess (basketball, hockey, football) thereby making you feel like even more of a failure. "First year of university out of the way? You didn't ace it? Oh...well. That was kinda all you had going for you, so..."

4) People want you to socialize. I forgot about this. I am already in my pjs, and I am expected to go out to a bar tonight to watch playoff hockey.

5) You remember that you actually need to get your shit together re: flist, writing, reading, driving, job-hunting, hockey-playing, soccer-playing, and socializing. It becomes frighteningly clear in the first hour and a half how impossible this is going to be.

Aaaannnd....let me use that as a segue into saying that I really will get back into the swing of things. If you haven't defriended me already, hold me to that promise. Hassle me. Force me to write you things. Y'know, whatever works.

Hope you are all having an excellent end-of-school year/"cruelest month" (what is the point of doing a great books program if I can't obnoxiously reference it at all times?).

PS - I saw Insidious yesterday. I am the world's biggest wuss - FACT. But my girlfriend, she likes horror movies, and I figure we can't always see what I want to see, so...yeah, that was a bad idea. I mean, it was good? At least in the sense that it scared her a bit, but that means I was fucking terrified and didn't sleep last night. So, you know...small setbacks. Someday I'll get over this wussiness issue.

rambling, lists!, movies
