two questions!

Flist, what should I bake today? Seriously, this is a question of utmost importance. I haven't baked anything in weeks, and then I tortured myself by looking at Cakespy and a few of my favourite recipe blogs, and now I want to try something new. Sort of. ALSO - tell me if you have any favourite recipe blogs, because I am always happy to torture ( Read more... )

I have a Mac, and I love it to death! They are expensive, though, and whether you get what you pay for probably depends on how much you use it.

Currently on my to-bake list are thesecookies, and these brownies. And those two blogs are my very favourite cooking blogs, although this one is also pretty good. (I have a food blog addiction, seriously.)

Well, I mean - I use my computer constantly. And it's obviously horrifying to have it break in any way. But I definitely do not use it for much more than the basics.

Oh man, smittenkitchen and I are terribly well-acquainted. Those cookies do look delicious. And though I am not a big fan of marshmallows, I had totally forgotten about Joy the Baker, so thanks for that! Also, I'd never seen use real butter, so thanks for that one, also! (Oh god, me too.)

I basically only use mine for internet/writing, although I've messed around a bit with iMovie and graphics software and stuff, and I'm pretty convinced that I'll never go back to using a PC unless I absolutely have to. But I don't want to sound like one of those people who are all 'Macs are clearly superior in every way'!

I'm obsessed with smittenkitchen. Everything I've made from her recipes have turned out amazing (have you made her blondies? I think I died and went to heaven). And I basically want to be Joy the Baker when I grow up, I adore her. I have a load of food blogs on google reader, but I can't think of any other really great ones.

You are not sounding like one of those people, don't worry! You're giving an honest opinion, and I appreciate that. Every person I've talked to seems to say the same thing.

Oh god, I know, right? It's like she can do no wrong! I haven't made her blondies, no - maybe I'll make those today - but I'm in love with her orange pecan chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. IN LOVE.

Ooh, I haven't tried the oatmeal cookies! I'll have to put it on the list. You should definitely make the blondies at some point - I've done them with chocolate chips - or chocolate toffee bars cut up into pieces - and almonds, and they were absolutely amazing. I'm attempting to make her New York cheesecake on Monday, as well.

Definitely try them, they're awesome! Orange zest does a lot, for whatever reason. Oh man, I love cheesecake. Making it myself always seems like such a huge undertaking, though! I do have this recipe for cheesecake squares that I'm kind of in love with.
