Hey
look! Someone managed to write an article that offends me in two ways, not just one! I think my problems with this POV can be summed up with this quote: The funny thing about telling the world that you enjoy having sex with or are attracted to members of both sexes is that it is kind of like announcing to a room full of Americans that you are Canadian. Just like Canadians are basically Americans with a few subtle differences (healthcare, politeness, love of hockey) bisexuals are basically just straight people who like to get a little funky. There is so much wrong with that, I don't even know where to start. Also, how people choose to label themselves is NOT YOUR BUSINESS. If someone identifies as being bisexual, you don't get to dictate the boundaries of that terminology.
There has been a lot of stuff - and yes, I'm going to call it "stuff" instead of wank because I feel that's more all-encompassing - going on in fandom this past little while, and I have all sorts of thoughts on most of them, but a lot of other people have said it better.
Um...my quest for a better job with more reliable hours continues to be really frustrating, but there's a cute cupcake place that recently opened near my house, so fingers crossed for that.
In other news, I am struggling to even start my
fs_exchange fic.
Also, I saw The Fantastic Mr. Fox tonight and was totally charmed by it. I'm kind of in love with Jason Schwartzman's voice; is that weird?
And...have two
totally awesome videos that will hopefully brighten your days a little bit.
