Never treat someone as if their request is overly picky/frivolous simply because you are unfamiliar with it or their reasons. Especially never treat a woman like her requirements are somehow irrational or irrelevant in the scheme of things while at the same time being to stubborn/lazy to avail yourself of the supporting educational references she has offered.
Lastly, if you are a dumb-fuck roofing salesman who has no clue what an Energy-Star rated shingle is and negative amounts of desire to find out, turn around with your little condescending smirk and completely boff a roof area measurement then attempt to get me to pay for your mistake or to view your 'compromise' as anything other than the cover-your-ass attempt that it is while also justifying it as ok since it's an insurance job and therefore contract bindings and unapproved change orders are not affecting /me/. (because, ya know, dishonest is ok as long as it's someone else we're screwing, right?)
