The pieces of this slotted together really well at the end; sad and atmospheric.

They are enemies now, whatever that means. Who of them has changed? She is still Morgana and he Arthur but they can no longer meet in the middle. He hears of her exploits, is pressured to act against her, he rarely sees her and he forgets the truth in her face but not now.

Beautiful description of their relationship, and I loved the dichotomy between them that you established.

Loved the last line.

I love the symbolism of that treaty and their angst... that last line is so full of hope which is crushed because all through the fic you showed us how it never came to pass. And the portrayal of Arthur and his black/white and Morgana with her shades of grey was spot-on. It saddens me that even as a king Arthur can't renounce Uther's old ways :( Urgh I really need to get a new OTP, Mo/A makes me depressed xD lol This was a great fic, loved it!

*shrug* To be completely fair to Uther, I can see how a person like him would come to that conclusion. Imagine an era where there were more evil or just plain bad magicians.

Think of all the men/woman who would loose their spouse to a Love potion, to a man who would kidnap an entire village's children with magic because their mayor refused to pay him, who would take other people's shape to spy, rack up debts, sleep with their lover etc or pass of illusionary gold as real?

When you come right down to it Magic is very scary. From what Gaius said in one of the episodes most magicians were abusing their power. Forget the 'Evil' with the capital 'E' magicians the plain ordinary bad magicians would be a nightmare.

Uther went too far one way, however Morgana would probably go too far the other way and poor Merlin and Arthur caught in the middle.

Interesting piece. I like that you used light and dark here, its a great way to represent the people they are supposed to be. Nice job!
