Chapter 13:
“Takaki-kun hurry up!” Ryosuke calle up to Yuya.
“Wait up! You’re extremely hyper today aren’t you?” Yuya pinched Ryosuke’s cheeks when he caught up to him.
Ryosuke ignored him and pulled him towards the ferris wheel.”Come on!”
Ryosuke keep on glancing at his watch throughout the ride and this made Yuya wonder.
“You waiting for something?”
“Here it comes! 5!4!3!2!1!” Ryosuke keplt his gaze at the horizon until colourful fireworks painted the sky and so did Yuya.
“I love you, Yuya!” Yuya was startled when Ryosuke suddenly held his hand and said this three words.
“Thanks for loving me to, Ryosuke.” Yuya held Ryosuke’s face to his and tenderly placed his lips on his, not minding the noise and the lights created by the fireworks, adding vibrance to their lovely scene. It’s as if they’re in their own little paradise in each other’s arms.
For the next couple of days they’ve been really sweet with each other. They showered each other with all the affection they have. Every moment of them together is sweet. For them, it is indeed the best days of their lives and they don’t want to let it pass. But time flies.
“Something’s up with you!” Chinen shouted angrily at Ryosuke.
“Why do you say that? If fine!” Ryosuke felt tense at the suspicious stares given to him by Yuto and Chinen.
“Nope! There’s definitely something wrong with you. You’re just not you these past few days, Ryo-chan! You’re smiling like an idiot even if there’s nothing to smile about, you hurry to get home everyday, and, and there’s this heavenly light emitting from your face that I haven’t seen before!”
“And that’s bad?!”
“Yes! I mean…well… There’s gotta be something going on and you ought to tell us what that is!”
“I-ah”
“Like you promised!” Chinen cut him off, panting.
“I guess I’ll have to tell you then, but promise me that you will never go against me and my decision okay?”
Both Chinen and Yuto nodded.
They went to the roof top where no one can hear nor see them and Ryosuke told them everything that had happened between him and Yuya starting from the accident up to the present.
Both Yuto and Chinen’s mouth were ajar when Ryosuke finished his story.
“Snap it! You both look like idiots!
“You’ve gotta be kidding me! You’re joking right?” Chinen’s eyes were wide with disbelief.
“Those kinds of jokes won’t sell, Ryo-chan.” Yuto said, half laughing.”That’s just terrible!”
“I’m not joking. I’m serious.” Ryosuke said in a serious tone and with a frown on his face.
“…”
“Bwahahahaha! Quit the acting Ryo-chan! I mights just end up believing you! Hahahaha!” Yuto said, almost coughing due to excessive laughing.
“Baka! He’s serious, Yuto!” Chinen hit Yuto’s head.
Yuto frowned. “You-you are? B-but…”
“I know!” Ryosuke turned his back to them. “It’s wrong! It’s forbidden! It’s ridiculous!...” Ryosuke sniffed. “…It’s unfair…” Ryosuke’s tears streamed down his face and this made his two best friends feel bad.
“As we promised, we won’t go against you. But you know the consequences are, right?” Chinen stood beside him now, concern very visible on his face.
“I know I’ll just hurt myself and even my mom, but no matter how much I tell myself that it’s wrong, my heart feels the opposite. I can’t help it!”
Yuto sighs.”No matter what happens, we’re always here to back you up. Remember that.” Yuto assures him.
“Thanks guys!” Somehow, he felt his burdens and worries deplete.
Yuya was happily sitting on his office chair while thinking of another surprise for Ryosuke when his phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Hello! Yuya! I miss you!”
“Y-Yu?” Yuya’s eyes widened and his hands trembled.
“How are you? How’s Ryosuke? I terribly miss you guys!”
“We’re fine. Don’t worry about us.” He tried to hide his anxiety.
“I haven’t called for a while, ne? Don’t worry, I’ll be home the next day. I can’t wait to see you again! Tell Ryo-chan I love him so much and that mommy miss him okay?”
“…”
“Yuya? Still there?”
“Yeah! I’m still here. Sorry, I was just excited for you to come home.” He tried to suppress his tears as realizations fill his head.
“Aww. I love you Yuya! Bye!”
“Yeah, me too. Bye.”
Yuya felt his body double its weight when he lay back on his chair. It’s as if all his energy has been sucked out.
It’s almost over.
He hurriedly left his office and drove to Ryosuke’s school. His tears flooded down his face. He felt bad that he doesn’t want his own wife back yet. He felt bad for causing pain to Ryosuke.
Why is fate so unfair? Why did I have to meet Yu and marry her before I met Ryosuke? Why?
Right now, all he wanted to do is drift off to another place with Ryosuke. The sad thing is, he can't.
