Maternal Instincts

Lately many of my friends have gotten dogs or pets of sorts. Aricka Shuck and Buffy, Abby Hetu and Leela, the praying dog. Or I've been making friends with people who have pets.

Who knows if that's even the reason, but lately pets have been on my mind. Perhaps it's my maternal instincts showing through, although I've always thought myself "especially unfit for motherhood." My biological clock is ticking and telling me that I need to reproduce, although I'd rather not contribute to the overpopulation of this world.

Plus with the fact that in a couple of months I'll be moving out of the OU USA's for good and into an apartment with Mark, having a pet has become a possibility.

But, no, I don't want a dog or a cat or anything like that. I want a ferret. My family had 2 ferrets when I was growing up and I miss having one.

Too bad I can't afford it, especially since I'll be responsible for rent coming up and even that is going to be a stretch for my fiscal responsibility. But I sure would like some small, furry creature to have around.
