There's a Jinx at a cafe! Well, she needs to get out of that hideout every now and then. A few heads turn at the pink-haired girl nodding her head to some headphones, a smile on her face before she takes a sip of whatever coffee drink she has.

((I don't use Jinx enough. Basically an open post for your pups to talk to her; or give her a hard time, ( Read more... )

Ghost had just purchased a chai latte when he noticed Jinx there in the cafe...this one was the alternate he'd gone out on a date on when they were LOLed that one time, and he hadn't seen her since. He hoped that she didn't think he was some sort of jerk for not calling her - Ghost was notoriously bad for keeping in regular contact with people.

However, nothing like saying hello to break the ice. Besides...the little bit of surface thoughts he'd touched upon at least had nothing about 'that jerk Ghost' or any sorts of promises of pain.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked mildly.

She blinked, startled to see him. "Well hey stranger," she said, laughing a bit. "I don't mind at all. Have a seat." Jinx was in a good mood before, but wow, this was an unexpected surprise. She took off her headphones and paused her music, smiling some. "So, been busy Ghost? It's been awhile."

Oh, good. She wasn't annoyed at him. Even though this Jinx didn't know him as well as the surrogate little sister who now called herself Faust, she didn't seem to mind his absence. Faust/then Jinx had learned to accept his long absences as a matter of course. Now he wasn't doing long distance and long-term contracts...but he was still frequently gone, or just hanging around the hideout.

"I usually keep busy," he replied with a nod. "You'd think that spies wouldn't be as high in demand within the country...but businesses spy on one another. You'd be surprised what people will pay for their competitor's secrets."

He took a sip of the chai latte, then set it down on the table and took a seat across from her.

"And yourself? If I may, you seem to be in high spirits today."

She certainly wasn't annoyed. Maybe a few weeks after the LOL had worn off, although he didn't seem like the type that would avoid her afterward; thus why she figured he must have just been busy. Who cares why he was gone, she thought to herself, at least I get to see him now.

"Sounds more exciting than what I've been up to," she said. "I've hung out with See-more and Gizmo a few times, and done a few jobs, but other than that..." she shrugs. "Pretty boring.

"Oh? Heh, I suppose so," she said, smiling some at him. "It was a nice day out, and I've been cooped up all week, so this was a nice change."

"I'm surprised you haven't come by the hideout yet," said Ghost. "One thing that's rather amusing - you can very easily tell whose bedroom is whose."

In most cases, you could also tell whose stuff belonged to whom. Even Ghost's choice in alcohol screamed 'upper class' - fine wine instead of beer. Not that this stopped other people from occasionally nipping into his supplies. To be fair, though, he was welcomed to have some of the beer that was kept around.

"Perhaps I'll give you the grand tour, if you're free?"

"Well... I wasn't really invited until recently," she says quietly. It didn't feel right to her to ask them where their base was; Jinx knew See-more and Gizmo trusted her, but she wasn't sure about the others since... she hadn't even seen them. "And even after the invitation, uh..." she grins a little sheepishly, "Gizmo didn't mention exactly where it was."

She smiled at the offer, and nodded. "That would be really nice, Ghost."

Ghost looked bemused. "Certain key details can get lost...especially since your alt knows where our hideout is. Perhaps they assumed that you would somehow have discovered this through some sort of cosmic connection."

He, for one, was glad that they now looked totally different, and his surrogate little sister was now calling herself Faust. They were two different people, and it was much easier when they didn't share an appearance and a nmae.

"Heh, not very likely," Jinx said, taking a drink. "I've still yet to meet her. She must be more elusive than.. well, me," she laughed.

"After her quite literally life-altering experience, I've gathered that she's got quite a few responsibilities to attend to at short notice," Ghost remarked.

His latte was almost finished, so he decided to check if she was ready to go or not.

"Whenever you're ready, we can go back to the hideout...unless there's somewhere you wanted to go first. I've got nothing to do today, so I can keep you company for a while, if you'll have me."
