Grandfathers
I always thought Grandfathers were supposed to be there for you when you needed them, I know Nick was never around much even when my parents were alive, he was always just as busy on his own digs as my parents were on theirs, why should that chaange now? Ok, maybe deep down I kind of hoped he might think I was more important than whatever his latest dig was and even if he wasn't willing to stop it, he'd at least be willing to let me come along and help him with it, he knows I"ve been helping my parents ever since I was a little kid, so I know what to do and he wouldn't need to tell me what to do or even watch me, it doesn't make sense for him to leave me here with strangers when I could be with him, helping him on his dig like I did my mom and dad.
