It's just possible he hasn't been seen in a little while (hardly any time at all, if you're a god), but now Loki's out in the snowy windy night, building a snowman. And he's wearing a woolly hat, and fuzzy mittens with strings on, and having generally a great time putting this splendid little person together. He's already got a happy half-circle of ( Read more... )

Wednesday observed before he said anything, amused, and deciding that this person was familiar to a point that made him almost uneasy.

After all, he had already met his old friend Low Key here.

Still, he was amused.

"Making something?"

Loki waves vaguely with one fuzzy-mittenned hand, peering at the newcomer through the snow. "No, I'm fishing, can't you tell? Hi there."

Wednesday pulled the earflaps of his head down tighter and made his way over to...

Well, look at that.

"Loki. From the old country." Wednesday nearly laughed.

He stands back, studying Wednesday -- not that it takes long to come up with four. "And Odin, from the new one? My, it's practically a convention."

"Well I guess you're right. You're still around. How is it over there?"

He would be lying if he said he didn't miss it.

Loki might not be entirely truthful if he said he did. He's got used to vacation. But he just shrugs. "As it ever was."

"Its been a long time," Wednesday admitted. "I haven't been there since...the ninth century."

Which was a long time, even for a god.

He whistles, softly. "That's a while, yeah. Is Vinland worth the millennium?"

"I sometimes wish I could go back."

Back when there were wars and blood spilt in his name and all that. The good old days.

Loki doesn't have quite the same nostalgia -- he isn't even really, in the strict dictionary sense of the word, properly a god, and too often it was his blood they were threatening to spill -- but even so, he Gets It.

"Wouldn't make a difference y'know. There's not been a lot of work for us in almost as long. Victims of Progress, and all."

"Well. I suppose you're right," he said wryly. "The world isn't what it used to be."

After all, even in America they've given him sacrifices. He'd heard it enough from the native gods, if you could call them that, of America, after all, it was their people that his people had used.

Ah well. Sacrifice is sacrifice, to him.

"Of course I'm right." If he's insufferable, it's because he likes it that way-- if he isn't, he's not trying hard enough. "So how long have you been here?"

"here? Only a few weeks."

Long enough to be establishing a fanbase worshippers friends.

Oh dear. Oh, dear.

"I've found its comfortable. More so that where I came from."

After all, he had been missing half a face there. Of his own free will of course but nevertheless.

"Fair enough. I think most people do."

Good thing he doesn't anymore, or Hel might think he'd been stealing her look.
